Physical Preparation for Martial Arts Vol 2
By Olivier D'Amario & Eric Candori
Building a Strong Body for Life—From Childhood to Healthy Aging
Olivier D'Amario and Eric Candori, former international Judo and Ju-Jitsu competitors and 4th Dan black belts, are state-certified instructors with more than twenty years of teaching experience. Combining decades of practical knowledge with a commitment to continuous study and refinement, they have developed a complete physical preparation system suitable for children, adults, competitive athletes, and seniors.
Recognizing that every individual has different goals and abilities, they present training methods that can be adapted to improve the physical qualities most important to each practitioner. Their progressive approach develops mobility, strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, and body awareness—the essential foundations of athletic performance, injury prevention, and lifelong health. By strengthening both body and mind, these qualities promote better movement, greater confidence, and improved overall well-being.
This program emphasizes the importance of developing proper movement patterns at every stage of life. Children build coordination, posture, and body control that provide a strong athletic foundation. Adults and athletes can improve strength, speed, endurance, and sport-specific performance, while older practitioners will discover effective exercises to maintain mobility, balance, and functional fitness.
The exercises progress from simple to advanced, making the program accessible to beginners while continuing to challenge experienced practitioners. In addition to individual drills, the instructors provide sample training sessions and practical guidance for designing workouts that target specific physical qualities, whether your goal is enhanced sports performance or maintaining the strength and mobility needed for an active, healthy life.
