Kajukenbo was born between 1947 and 1949 as one of the most effective, modern, and innovative self-defense systems. Since then, and despite the voices that have tried to stagnate its development as another Martial Art among those considered traditional, the truth is that the working concepts thought of by Sijo Emperado incite the non-conformist to develop novel techniques that tune Kajukenbo into the new times, times in which real self-defense is essential, and Spanish Kajukenbo is one example of how, without abandoning the principles created by Sijo Emperado, one can maintain a living system, one that is constantly evolving.
