As demonstrated in the preceding sections of the Gracie Fundamentals, Intermediate, and Advanced 1 curricula, we will conclude our exploration of the Gracie Concepts® program with the Advanced 2 module. The Vacirca Brothers' program, “Advanced Gracie Jiu-Jitsu — Part 2,” includes the remaining lessons up to and including lesson 54. These lessons were enumerated by our esteemed great-grandmaster, Pedro Hemetério. He held the rank of red belt under the tutelage of great-grandmaster Hélio Gracie. 

Hemetério also made significant contributions to the original private lessons program taught by the Gracie family in the early days. We firmly believe that if you have followed the instructions thus far and engaged in the prescribed training, you have now established a comprehensive and multifaceted foundation in self-defense. To attain the rank of black belt in the Gracie Concepts® Network under the Vacirca Brothers, Franco and Demetrio, participation in the program alone is insufficient; one must demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of the curriculum.

This concluding section of the program teaches several principles and reiterates others to guarantee that the comprehensive “game” of Jiu-Jitsu, as imparted by the founding masters, is fully understood. Attaining this advanced proficiency in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu usually takes several years of dedicated training, including the full 54-lesson program and exposure to advanced “alternative” techniques and scenarios. Some of you may have instructed Gracie Jiu-Jitsu to an independent training group or helped at one of our affiliate Dojos within Gracie Concepts® partner schools. This additional knowledge will elevate your understanding, practice, and, naturally, your ability to teach Jiu-Jitsu. We extend a warm welcome to all those embarking on the GC Advanced Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Program Part 2.

Please note that Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is not just a method of self-defense. Those who maintain a realistic approach to training will experience a novel, constructive approach to martial arts practice.
