The Remarkable Journey of Patricia Guerri

Patricia Guerri's path in Aikido is the story of a lifetime devoted to preserving one of the art's most authentic traditions. She had the rare privilege of studying under the legendary Morihiro Saito Sensei, one of Morihei Ueshiba's closest disciples and the guardian of the Iwama style of Aikido. Known for his humility and precision, Saito Sensei quietly transmitted an extraordinary body of knowledge through his daily instruction at the Aikido Shrine in Iwama, Japan.

Over the many years Patricia trained under his direct guidance, including time as an uchi-deshi (live-in student), Saito Sensei entrusted her with several prestigious certifications, including Mokuroku and 5th Dan in Weapons, recognizing her mastery of Aiki Ken, Aiki Jo, and Bukiwaza. These honors reflect not only her technical ability, but also the confidence Saito Sensei placed in her to preserve and transmit his teachings.

Today, through Aiki Bukikai, Patricia Guerri continues to safeguard, develop, and share the knowledge she received from her teacher. Her dedication ensures that the principles and weapons traditions of Iwama Aikido remain alive for future generations.
